Enhancement Effectiveness

2004-05-03 10:51AM geko, This has probably already been answered...

Yes, enhancements stack!

There is no penalty. It is simply up to you how you want to balance them (damage, vs Accuracy vs recharge vs End Discount....etc). For instance, 1 Single Origin Damage Enhancement will boost damage by 33%. I2 would give you +66% daamge. If you were to merge those 2 into an X+, then it would only get about a 39% boost . 6 single origin Damage Enhancements can triple your damage... but, you will be sacraficing Accuracy.

2 enhancements are better than merging them into an X+ enhancement.

Here's how Enhancements currently work:

Aside: The Vigilance-Committee does not have a complete list of which cases these lower values apply to. Apparently the 'Strategy Guide' lists these. Geko has stated that Range, and Buff Defense both operate with the lower %ages

Enhancement Math

2004-05-12 11:04PM geko, How do you calculate bonuses with enhancements?

Recharge time is tricky b/c Recharge enhacements dont reduce the actual time by a percentage. they trick the power to think time is passing faster.

To do the formula:
(Recharge Time) / (1 + Enh Bonus) = New Recharge Time

So in an example of a 120s RT with 1 SO RT Enh at 33%:
120s/(1+0.33)=90.23s

Damage is more straightforward:
Dam x (1 + Enh Bonus) = New Damage

So a 10pt dam power with a SO Dam Enh at 33% bonus would be:
10 x (1+.33) = 13.3

Enhancement Caps

2004-04-27 10:31PM geko, Enhancement Caps: I need some info

It is exceptionally rare to hit an enhancement cap. The only powers I can recall that you may encounter a cap would be traqvel powers (flight speed on Fly, Run Speed on Super speed, adn jump height on SuperJump). These caps are really there for server limitations (to prevent warping and rubber-banding).

I cannot recall any other powers that you can actually reach the cap on w/ enhancements alone. Caps can, however, be reached if you max out a power w/ enhancements, and then a high level player tries top buff u too much.

We hope to get more UI info on your stat maxes in the future.

2004-05-12 04:10PM geko, Is there an enhancement cap?

The only time you may hit an Enhancement Cap is with Super Speed (top run Speed), Fly (fly Speed) and Super Leap (jump Height).

This is because of server limitations on travel speed. Although this is not ideal, we are looking into a better solution. That solution may include sone of the following:

You will not reach the Max in other powers. IT is, however, possible to reach the max (lets say damage for instance) if you max out your enhancements, and then a higher level player tries to buff you. That is what the Maxes are really there for.
